Privacy Policy

Curacao Playbook (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independently operated Curacao travel guide. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We respect your privacy and collect as little personal data as possible. We do not store an email list, run a newsletter, or process any payments on this website.

1. Information we collect

  • Information you provide directly: if you send us a message through our contact form about trip planning or a question, we receive the contents of that message to reply to you. We do not use it for any other purpose.
  • Automatically collected data: standard log information (IP address, browser, device, referring URL, pages visited) collected via Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for traffic analysis and UX improvements. Clarity may record anonymized session replays of how you interact with the site.
  • Cookies: we use first-party cookies to remember your preferences and third-party cookies from our analytics and affiliate partners. You can disable cookies in your browser.
  • Consent by region: if you visit from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, analytics and affiliate tracking stay off until you accept our cookie banner, and stay off if you decline. In other regions these run by default so we can see which guides help; you can opt out at any time by disabling cookies in your browser or through our contact form.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to messages you send us through the contact form.
  • To measure traffic, improve the site, and detect abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not maintain a marketing email list.

3. Third-party services

We share limited data with the following providers strictly to operate the site:

  • Google Analytics 4 (traffic analytics)
  • Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session analytics)
  • Vercel (hosting)

When you click an affiliate link (Viator, Travelpayouts, DiscoverCars), you leave our site and become subject to that provider’s privacy policy. Any bookings you make are completed on their site, not ours.

4. Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form and we will respond within 30 days.

5. Data retention

Direct emails you send us are kept only for as long as needed to answer your question, and then archived. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults (currently 14 months).

6. Children

Curacao Playbook is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “last updated” date.
